Clorox Innovates Cleaning with New Smart Tube Bottles
As the saying goes, “you get what you pay for,” but with certain cleaning products packaging design, that isn’t always true. Have you ever had to consolidate partial bottles because they were too empty to work properly? Have you had to tilt the sprayer at awkward angles just to squeeze out those last few drops or avoid misfires? Or worse yet, have you just thrown away the entire bottle with product still in it- just because your spray tube wasn’t long enough to reach the bottom?
Clorox recognized that this problem was generally universal when it comes to the current design of spray bottles, and found a way to allow every drop of cleaning product to be used from every bottle, thanks to the new Smart Tube spray technology!
The new bottle design uses eight proprietary patents, including several ease-of-use upgrades as compared to the former bottle design. The most obvious change is the integrated dip tube that now runs the entire length of the bottle, ensuring efficient use of every drop, while making it easier to refill bottles with concentrated product.
Before, the user would have to pull out the entire dispensing tube attached to the nozzle to refill bottles, splattering product everywhere. Now, the integrated dip tube stays attached to the wider opening of the bottle, making refills easier and cleaner, with less spills. With the new nozzle design, customers will also avoid twisting off the nozzle- with just a quarter turn, they have an open bottle, and with “snap to lock” closure, they can enjoy a more secure seal.
This new, easier-to-use design not only gives customers every drop of product they have paid for, it also features :
- the comfort of 33% less effort to dispense
- a more ergonomic grip, and
- better coverage and control than the previous design.
Select 32-ounce bottles of Clorox Clean-Up, Clorox Cleaner and Degreaser, Formula 409, Tilex, and Clorox Greenworks are all being updated with the new Smart Tube through Spring of 2013, with Clorox Healthcare, Broad Spectrum, and Hydrogen Peroxide cleaners following suit this Summer.
