What to Do When Your Hospital Grade Options are Not Available
Due to the unprecedented health crisis of COVID 19, many household disinfecting products in high demand are not available at this time, creating a challenge for those in need.
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) suggests BLEACH is an excellent alternative for disinfecting when handled properly, capable of killing some of the most dangerous bacteria (Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, E-Coli, and Salmonella) as well as viruses like the common cold, flu and COVID19.
Per the CDC guidelines cleaning surfaces with soap and water should be done routinely, while using bleach, if appropriate for the surface, to disinfect under the following direction, is suggested:
- Wear disposable gloves
- Check to ensure the product is not past its expiration date
- Follow manufacturer’s instructions for proper application and ventilation
- Never mix household bleach with ammonia or any other cleaner
